What Pride Month Means To Ricki Ortiz, Sponsored EG Fighting Game Player

By on June 8, 2020

In early December of 2016, Ricki Ortiz defeated Ryota “Kazunoko” Inoue in the losers’ finals of Capcom Cup. Her victory over Inoue not only set up an all-American grand final (thereby guaranteeing that the Capcom Cup champion would come from the US), it also served notice that trans women belong in the Fighting Game Community.

Now it’s Pride, the time of year when we go out of our way to celebrate our LGBT+ friends and family. As part of that community, Ortiz talked about what Pride means to her and what it means to be LGBT+ in the FGC. Watch the full interview with this legend below, then follow Ortiz on Twitter and Twitch to show her that the FGC has her back.
