As previously covered here at toptier, Capcom and Intel are teaming up to produce a series of Street Fighter V tournaments that will culminate in an international championship on the brink of the summer Olympic games. Today, the sponsors announced that they will open registration for the World Open in five days on March 2. Right now the registration page only has a countdown, but we can expect a sign-up form to appear once registration is open. They also released a full rulebook, which prospective players should read carefully in order to be prepared for the event.

The qualifiers for each preselected nation will run on the following dates:

  • Japan and the USA: March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9
  • Brazil, China, France, Hong Kong, and the UK: March 21, March 28, April 4, April 18, April 25,
    May 2
  • Korea and Taiwan: March 28, April 11, April 25, May 9
  • Dominican Republic, Russia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates: April 4, April 25
