See Adam “Armada” Lindgren’s Analysis of Smash Ultimate 6.0.0

His conclusion? "We survived"
By on November 6, 2019

Alongside the newly released Terry Bogard, today’s update to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate contained a handful of changes to existing characters. Adam “Armada” Lindgren dropped a video earlier today in which he discusses those tweaks. His take is that Robin benefits the most. By and large, though, he feels that the adjustments are modest. For example, the changes to Jigglypuff are modest enough that Lindgren tells his viewers “we survived.” Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma will just have to wait for version 7.0, it seems.

It’s worth noting that there’s some degree of interpretation involved here because of the way that the patch notes are written. Instead of publishing numerical frame data and using commonly accepted fighting game terminology, Nintendo uses looser descriptions. For instance, where other fighting game publishers might describe a move as having X cooldown frames or being plus-Y on block, Nintendo refers to moves as having “reduced vulnerability.” As such, it’s worth keeping an open mind about what these changes might actually entail.
