With the full game lineup revealed for the Evolution Championship Series 2020, Marvel vs Capcom 2 was announced to have a special format. The tournament is an 8 man invitational tournament with 4 spots set aside for previous MvC2 EVO Champs: Justin Wong, Duc Do, Sanford Kelly, IFC Yipes. The remaining 4 were to be open for qualifiers to earn.
Joey “Mr. Wizard” Ceullar has revealed the 4 tournaments that will determine the 4 open spots for the EVO 2020 MvC2 invitational. The qualifier tournaments are as follows:
- NorCal Regionals 2020 – April 10-12
- April Annihilation 2020 – April 10-12
- Combo Breaker 2020 – May 22-24
- Last Chance Qualifier at EVO 2020 – July 31
