Arc System Works has just revealed their next fighting game DNF Duel.

The game is based on the online brawler MMO of the same name, Dungeon Fighter Online (DFO). The franchise started back in 2005 and has become massively popular with over 700 million players.

The trailer hasn’t shown much for what to expect in terms of mechanics. The only thing we can tell from the trailer is that there seems to be an attack canceling system that allows you to perform another action after certain moves. This is indicated by the white spark that flashes on the characters between their moves.

Visually, the game takes after ArcSys’ previous game, Granblue Fantasy Versus. The super moves have the same high quality anime aesthetic to show off some over the top animations.

Ryosuke Kodani is the game’s director and comments on the collaboration with DFO. Kodani has worked as a lead on Dragon Ball FighterZ and also worked on Arcana Hearts 3 prior to this project. He mentions that 8ing, who worked on Bloody Roar and Marvel vs Capcom 3, will be part of the project.
