Bandai Namco Announces Online Challenge Tournaments for Tekken 7 and SoulCalibur VI

With the cancellation of in-person events and EVO Online, the Fighting Game Community has been hungry for competition. The Japanese Fighting Game Publisher Roundtable this past weekend has come through for the 3D fighting fans with their Online Challenge Tournaments.

The Tekken Online Challenge Tournaments will happen in 6 different countries with cash prizes. The tournaments will be open onlineĀ  tournaments and organization will happen via Discord. The different regions and scheduling are as follows:

  • Pre-Event US West – 8/15 – 8/16
  • Europe West – 9/12 – 9/13
  • South Korea – 9/19 – 9/20
  • US East – 9/26 – 9/27
  • Europe North – 10/10 – 10/11
  • Australia – 10/17 – 10/18
  • US Central – 10/24 – 10/25
  • Europe Southwest – 11/07 – 11/08
  • Philippines – 11/14 – 11/15
  • US West – 11/21 – 11/22
  • Japan – 12/05 – 12/06

The prizes will go to the top 3 placers in the tournament:

  • 1st Place – $500 USD + Bonus
  • 2nd Place – $300 USD
  • 3rd Place – $200 USD

The first place winner will get a chance to play in a “Special Match Set” for a chance at winning additional $500 USD. The match will be a first to five set with the winner and a player pre-selected by the tournament organizers.

 

The SoulCalibur Online Challenge will take place in 3 countries with the following schedule:

  • Japan – 10/3 – 10/4
  • US East – 10/31 – 11/01
  • Europe West – 11/28 – 11/29

The prizing and rules for the SoulCalibur Online Challenges have not yet been released as of this writing.
