The Covid-19 pandemic is ravaged the entire tournament scene for the fighting game community. The virus started with staple tournaments like NorCal Regionals, Final Round, and Combo Breaker. It eventually ended all of the world tour circuits like Capcom Pro Tour, Tekken World Tour, and even the inaugural SoulCalibur World Tour.
Now, the pandemic has claimed the biggest FGC event of the year, Evolution 2020. The official EVO twitter announced that they have canceled the event. They’ve promised to refund all purchased tickets. They’ve also announced that they will be planning for an online event for the summer time. More info to come.
